I am humbled and grateful to announce my recognition as a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS, having been ranked among the top 0.5% of scholars worldwide in the field of Religion and Theology. Specifically, I was ranked #1 in Ghana, #1 in West Africa, #7 in Africa, and #67 globally, based on my scholarly contributions over the past five years. This remarkable achievement coincides with my decade-long journey of research and publication, during which I have produced close to 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and books.
ScholarGPS is a California-based organization that applies advanced data science techniques—artificial intelligence, data mining, and machine learning—to evaluate and rank over 30 million scholars and 120,000 research institutions globally. The organization uses rigorous, fully quantitative measures of productivity (publication count), impact (citation count), and quality (h-index) to provide what is arguably the most comprehensive and objective assessment of academic influence available today.
To be named among the top scholars in Religion and Theology is not just a personal honor—it is also a testament to the many colleagues, mentors, students, and institutional partners who have shaped my journey. Every publication, every lecture, every theological reflection has been part of a larger conversation, one rooted in faith, inquiry, and the pursuit of truth for human flourishing.
As a passionate contextual African theologian, this recognition affirms the importance of locally grounded and globally engaged scholarship. It reinforces my commitment to produce work that not only contributes to academic discourse but also serves the church and society.
This milestone encourages me to keep writing, mentoring, teaching, and exploring complex existential issues. It also reminds me that scholarship, while often solitary, is never truly done alone. I stand on the shoulders of many—thank you for your support, your prayers, and your partnership.
To God be the glory!
With deep gratitude and steadfast commitment to Christian scholarship,
Isaac Boaheng, PhD (Public Theology-UP), PhD (Religious Studies-UFS)
