About the CEO: Rev. Dr. Isaac Boaheng

Rev. Dr. Isaac Boaheng is an African theologian, researcher, academic, and gospel minister whose work reflects a deep commitment to the intersection of Christian faith, scholarship, and African contexts. He holds two doctoral degrees — a PhD in Political Theology from the University of Pretoria (2023) and a PhD in Religion Studies from the University of the Free State (2021), both in South Africa. He also holds a Master of Theology from the South African Theological Seminary (2019), a Master of Divinity from Trinity Theological Seminary, Ghana (2016) and a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana (2005).
Boaheng currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theology at the Christian Service University (CSU), Ghana, where he also chairs the Research and Publications Committee, directs the Quality Assurance and Academic Planning Unit, and acts as Managing Editor of the university’s Journal of Applied Science, Arts and Business (JASAB). He also works as a Senior Academic and PhD Supervisor with the South African Theological Seminary and has served as a Bible translator for the Bono-Twi Bible Translation Project with the Bible Society of Ghana since 2017.
He is widely published, with 136 academic publications to his name, including 15 authored books, 118 peer-reviewed journal articles, and 3 book chapters (as at April 2025). His research spans systematic theology, Christian ethics, and translation studies, with a strong focus on African theological perspectives. He has presented at over 15 international conferences and is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Biblical Scholars and the Ghana Association of Biblical Exegetes.
Boaheng is a reviewer for more than 20 international academic journals and serves as an external assessor for several universities in Ghana and abroad. Since 2020, he has been a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State, South Africa, and is a Reference Group Member at Wesley House, Cambridge, UK. In addition to his academic work, Boaheng is a dedicated minister of the Methodist Church Ghana, currently serving in his fifth station. His ministry integrates pastoral care, teaching, leadership development, and public theology. Looking ahead, he envisions mentoring African church leaders in scholarly writing, theological thinking, and ethical leadership. Boaheng is married to Gloria and they are blessed with five children—Christian, Benedict, Julia, Kalix and Myjiloy.
The founding of BRAINFA in 2024 marks a significant milestone in his vision to create a space where biblical research and innovation meet — to empower, educate, and engage the African continent through theology that speaks to both mind and heart.
